This document explains how to connect to the web based SSL VPN service through Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Open up your browser and go to https://rsvpn.ubc.ca
- Enter your Campus Wide Login (CWL) username and password to login.
- Once you have logged in, click on SSL VPN Client.
- The next step depend on your browser:
- If you are running Firefox, a popup may appear asking you if you would like to trust the “Nortel Networks Applet”. Click OK and the SSL VPN will begin to install.
- If you are running Internet Explorer, there may be a prompt under the address bar to install the ActiveX software. Click on it and install the Nortel Cache Wiper.
- If you are running Firefox, a popup may appear asking you if you would like to trust the “Nortel Networks Applet”. Click OK and the SSL VPN will begin to install.
- Once you have installed the program, it will connect to the SSL VPN and a blue or green icon will appear in the bottom right toolbar. Clicking on it will allow you to see the status of your connection.
- You are now connected to the UBC RSVPN service.
