Important Notice: Changes are coming to the availability of custom From domains on February xx, 2024
Note: this only impacts users who make use of these email domains and they have been identified and contacted individually.
What is the change?
The following custom From Domains in Qualtrics are being removed after February XX, 2024 and you will need to remove them from your surveys if you are using Qualtrics email distributions:
- alumni.ubc.ca
- cs.ubc.ca
- forestry.ubc.ca
- psych.ubc.ca
After February xx, 2024, these custom From domains will no longer work and cause your Qualtrics email distributions to fail.
What action do you need to take?
If you are currently using Qualtrics for your email distributions, you must to update your survey to use the existing custom From domains:
- survey.svc.ubc.ca
- qemailserver.com
- qualtrics-research.com
- qualtrics-survey.com
This update must be completed by February xx, 2024 as theformer custom From domains will no longer work after this date.

The UBC Survey Tool is provided by Qualtrics. It is an easy-to-use, top-tier survey tool platform that offers a wide range of features. It complies with the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) because the survey data is kept secure and is stored and backed up in Canada.
NOTE: If you use the UBC Survey Tool, your name will be available to other users of the tool. This feature is important to facilitate collaboration.
The UBC Survey Tool is available to all UBC faculty, staff, actively enrolled students, and sponsored guests with an active CWL account. Users can login at https://ubc.qualtrics.com with their CWL account to access the tool immediately.
Before accessing the UBC Survey Tool for the first time, it is important for you to read the Terms of Use.

Getting Started
Important Note: The time zone of your Qualtrics account is set to Mountain Time by default. To switch to Pacific Time, navigate to Account Settings by clicking on the icon in the top right corner of your screen. Select the desired time zone under Change Time Zone. The new setting will be saved automatically, and will remain unless manually updated.

Support and resources are available via Qualtrics and UBC IT. Qualtrics offer 24/7 support to answer all your inquiries about the tool and guidance on how to construct your surveys. Contact UBC IT for account inquiries.

UPDATE: The LT Hub will be offering Qualtrics studio sessions in the coming weeks/months. Join the Qualtrics studio to explore Qualtrics together and to receive support and guidance using this tool.
