First time users
Welcome to your ResTel Voice Mail system. Your voice mailbox operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be accessed from any touch-tone telephone in the world.
To access your voice mailbox
From Your Phone or Inside the Residence
- Dial 2-2525
- Enter your Password
- You're in!
From Outside The Residence
- Dial 604-822-2525
When ResTel Voice Mail answers:
- Press # (Pound Key)
- Enter your Mailbox number
- Enter your Password
To exit your voice mailbox
- Press * (Star Key)
- Press * again
You should always exit Voice Mail properly ? DO NOT simply hang up!
Password
The Voice Mail system is password protected. You will receive a Mailbox Number and a Pre-assigned Password once your Application for Voice Mail is received.
When you enter your mailbox for the first time, you will be asked to enter the pre-assigned password. After completing this step, you will be prompted to replace the pre-assigned password with your own (5 to 10 digits in length, and cannot begin with a "0").
To Change Your Password
- Press 4 2 1 1
- Enter new Password (must be 5 to 10 digits in length and cannot begin with a "0")
- Press #
Your new password is set!
Messages are private and confidential as long as no-one else knows your password.
If you forget your password, call ResTel Customer Service at 604-822-0990 and they will re-establish your mailbox.
To Record a New Greeting
- Press 4 3 1 2
- Record your new greeting
- Press # to end recording
To Review Your Greeting
- Press 1
- Press # to Confirm
Sample Greeting:
"Hello, you have called (name and/or number). I am not available to take your call. If you leave me a brief message with your name and number, I will return your call. Thank you."
It's a good idea to change your personal greeting frequently!

- Press 1 to Listen to First Message
After listening to the first message in its entirety, you will be prompted to:
- Press 7 to Erase, or,
- Press 9 to Save

Important!
- Messages heard and saved will be automatically deleted after 14 days.
- Unheard messages will be automatically deleted after 30 days.
- When you have messages waiting to be heard, you will hear an interrupted dial tone when you lift your telephone receiver.
- Each mailbox holds 10 messages of up to one (1) minute in length.
