For full e-mail and calendaring functionality, Exchange 2007 requires Outlook (PC), Entourage (Mac) or Outlook Web Access. Other e-mail applications can be used but will not offer a full set of services designed to take full advantage of the service.

- Secure IMAP
- Secure POP
- Secure SMTP
- Exchange Web Services
- ActiveSync
Other legacy connection methods such as WebDAV and MAPI are currently operational but will be phased out. Although the above protocols are available and can be used, UBC Information Technology can only provide support for the Outlook Web Access client. E-mail Client support for applications such as Outlook and Entourage are handled by departmental desktop support personnel.
