Please note that this information is provided as a reference for our existing customers. As of Monday, August 28, 2006, UBC IT Sales will no longer sell any web hosting packages to new customers.
In addition to our standard faculty and staff e-mail, dial-up and personal Web hosting packages, Interchange offers Web hosting services to UBC Departments and non-profit organizations.
Basic Web Hosting
Interchange's WebExpress Basic package is only offered to UBC organizations and non-profit organizations (with proof of non-profit status). The package includes:
- Your choice of a WebExpress Basic 5 package or a WebExpress Basic 30 package.
- Basic CGI programs
- General statistics (http://www.interchange.ubc.ca/web-stats/)
- Web address format is http://www.interchange.ubc.ca/username/ (where username is your WebExpress username -- usually you would choose a username the same as or similar to your organization's name.)
A Cold Fusion option is also available for $10 per month.
We are currently reviewing traffic quotas for web hosting. Sites with normal levels of traffic will not have a set quota during this review period.

How to order WebExpress Basic
Online ordering is available for extra file space.
By phone, call the Sales Desk at 604 822-2441. Phone orders can only be made via credit card. Cash, debit and journal voucher payments must be made in person.
In person, drop by room 100 of the L.S. Klinck Building. Hours of operation are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. If you need help finding us, a map is available.
Custom Web Hosting
Interchange's WebExpress Custom is the only Web package where commercial use is permitted. This option is available for UBC faculties and departments, but not to non-profits. The package includes:
- Your choice of a WebExpress Custom 10 package or a WebExpress Custom 30 package.
- Your own custom domain name (www.yourcompanyname.com)
- 5 e-mail aliases
- Basic CGI programs as well as the ability to execute your own local CGI script programs (with notification to the Systems Administrator)
- Standard statistics (found at http://www.yourorganization/stats/)
- A custom domain name. For example, the Web address for UBC organizations (departments, faculties, clubs) always takes the form http://www.yourorganization.ubc.ca/ while the Web address for non-UBC organizations and businesses would be one they choose such as http://www.yourorganization.ca/ or http://www.yourorganization.com/
