What is Interchange-for-All?
Interchange-for-All ensures UBC faculty and staff have access to Internet services provided by Interchange. Eligible faculty and staff can now take advantage of Interchange's Express-5 service (IfA-5) to receive 5 dial-in hours per 30 days at no charge
What's included?
An IFA account gives you a subscription to UBC's Interchange service, which provides Internet access, five hours of dial-in / 30 days, and email.
Who is eligible?
All General Purpose Operating Fund or grant-supported, full-time tenured and tenure track faculty, librarians, and administrative and professional staff (M&P) are eligible for Express-5 for no charge under the IFA-5 program.
How do you apply?
Step 1) Print out and fill in the Interchange-For-All Application. (If you don't have a printer, you can get a copy of the application from from your Departmental Computer Accounts Officer or from the Accounts Desk. If you have questions about the application form, contact IT Accounts.
Step 2) Hand in the completed application form to your departmental Computer Accounts Officer or the Accounts Desk. They will then register you for an Interchange account.
Interchange
The basic service, called Express, includes:
- An Interchange email account with 200MB of storage
- Dial-up Internet access
- Technical support
Interchange Packages & Rates
A variety of Express packages and additional package options are available for UBC faculty, staff and students. These packages are intended for individual use.

Rates are subject to applicable taxes. Unused dial-up time does not carry over to the next thirty-day interval. However, any extra dial-up time you purchase (see Options below) carries over until used up. |
If the services provided with your account do not completely meet your needs, you can customize your account with additional options at any time during the subscription period. However, if you find you need significantly more dial-up time or mailbox space than is provided with your account, it may be more cost-effective to upgrade to a higher level of package (e.g. from Express 5 to Express 20).

Billing - You can pay with debit card, cheque or cash deposit or, if you are purchasing for a UBC department, a journal voucher for up to four 30-day intervals at a time. You can cancel any of these services at any time; however, if you purchased a legacy 360-day subscription and you cancel it early, you will be subject to a small redemption fee.
