- Open Netscape Messenger
- Select Communicator / Address Book
- Select File / New Directory
- Click on the General tab (see screen shot below)
- In Description enter: UBC LDAP
- In LDAP Server enter: ldap.ubc.ca
- In Search Root enter: ou=people,o=ubc.ca
- In Port Number enter: 389
- In Don't show more than enter: 100
- Click OK
- You have now set up the UBC LDAP directory. It will be accessible when you enter the Address Book screen.
To test your setup look someone up in the directory:
- Select UBC LDAP from the list under Directory
- Enter the name of the person in Show Names Containing and press Enter
- Select a person from the list and double-click to get the details.
