The IT Strategy unit:

  • Ensures UBC has IT strategies that anticipate and address broad campus needs
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders in faculties and administrative units
  • Provides leadership and support to maintain high standards of IT security at UBC

To meet these goals, IT Strategy is active in three core areas: strategy, partnering and IT security.

Strategy
  • IT strategic planning
  • Developing business cases and project charters
  • Recommending priorities within the IT project portfolio
  • Promoting R&D, and monitoring trends, best practices and industry intelligence
  • Proposing policies and standards
  • Maintaining an IT architecture framework

Partnering

Working with partner units to:

  • Facilitate communication
  • Resolve issues
  • Help shape IT strategy
