Overview
UBC IT will be offering a Microsoft SharePoint software service beginning in summer 2013. SharePoint is a web-based communication and collaboration platform which provides a secure option for communication, collaboration, and document storage among teams and user communities. The service will be centrally hosted and managed by UBC IT.
Purpose
To design and develop a centrally managed and hosted SharePoint service, across all faculties and departments, at a reasonable cost.
Goals
- Provide a central, secure, version-controlled document repository available to departments and/or teams on a low-cost subscription basis
- Provide tools, checklists, and othershared resources to encourage best practices within SharePoint systems
