Project Summary
CRM Project UBC is seeking to replace the current CRM platform used by its international and domestic undergraduate recruitment and admission offices with a more robust solution.
Data Encryption Project UBC must take the necessary steps to protect its data and be compliant with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
Enterprise Active Directory (EAD) Upgrade Enterprise Active Directory Domain Controllers will be upgraded from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2012r2 for better stability, reliability, and performance.
FASmail (UBC Faculty & Staff Email) The university is deploying a new email system for all Faculty & Staff.
Identity & Access Management (IAM) Program UBC has recognised the need for an overall strategy to address the University's security and legal obligations for managing identity information.
Mobile Enablement Initiative UBC IT has launched a University-wide mobile initiative to make information on UBC websites more accessible and easier to access on all smartphones and tablets.
Network Management Tools Migration UBC IT has initiated a project to replace its network management tool set.

UBC Faculty & Staff Email (FASmail) Upgrade
UBC Mass Email Tool The university is looking at a unified campus solution for a vendor-hosted mass email system.
UBC-Wide Campus Agreement for Microsoft Products As of April 2010, UBC entered the UBC Wide Campus Agreement with Microsoft. This agreement allows UBC computers to be licensed for commonly used Microsoft software, including Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Many faculties and departments have opted into this campus agreement.
University Wide External Vulnerability Scanning UBC has hired Bell Canada to scan for vulnerabilities in campus IT systems. All internet-accessible, public IP addresses will be scanned from January 12, 2015 – February 5, 2015. The goal of this scanning is to identify any common operating system or application vulnerabilities that are exposed to the internet, such as Heartbleed or POODLE.
Video/Web Conferencing Bridge Replacement The Blue Jeans video conferencing service delivered to UBC through BCNet will be ending in May 2015. The university has recognized that there is a need to continue offering a conference bridge service at a reasonable cost.
Workspace 2.0 Upgrade UBC Workspace 2.0 is implementing the latest upgrade to its platform. The upgrade will enhance user experience, which includes features such as an improved file synchronization across devices and larger file size for uploads.
